IN THE DEAD OF WINTER WAKEFIELD:

A festival started almost a decade ago in Halifax in a time when music shows were rare and people were hungry. Heather Gibson and a group of volunteers decided to launch the In The Dead of Winter Festival. All those years ago, Heather asked Jim to be a part almost from the ground up and it is only natural that Jim would play a Wakefield version of this festival. His connection to both the festival and The Black Sheep Inn make it a natural fit.

Local performances this year are will be very few & Jim will be joined by Joey Wright in what could be called a “No Grass” Duo.  Also on the bill is the 2010 Galaxy Rising Star Award recipient Kim Wempe and Danielle Duval.

There are also shows on Friday and matinee’s on both Saturday and Sunday.

I am kind of in hibernation as we await the arrival of our second child here in 2 weeks. But being the dork I am, I have one more show planned before the full “Manternity” leave kicks in.

I am really excited (and nervous for early labor) to be a part of the Winter Green Concert Series next Saturday, January 21st.
